Daniel B. Nickell
As Vice President for Advanced Programs, Mr. Nickell is responsible for managing special programs and projects. He also provides technical support and guidance to other NBSP biometric and business development activities. He has extensive domestic and international experience in industrial and federal-level projects involving intelligence and reconnaissance systems, corrections and law enforcement, telecommunications systems, and electronic security disciplines. He has lectured on corporate management issues, business development, and proposal management and has authored and published a book on computer applications, technical works, and management articles.
Prior to joining NBSP Nickell led the new business development activities for the Asset Protection Systems Division, Radian Inc. where he managed the Division’s Applied Biometric Laboratory and led in the development of new security solutions using an integration of biometric technologies with other access control systems. At Radian he designed the original functional prototype of the US Air Force Smart Gate, an integration of various advanced security components to automate both vehicle and driver identification for access control to Air Force bases.
As Vice President and Principal Consultant for NET Inc. he guided companies in identifying, developing, pursuing, winning and executing new projects with the U.S. federal and foreign governments.
He served as a Signals Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Air Force and received his MBA, (Management and Marketing concentrations) from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, 1990 and a BA "with honors," (Communications Research) from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, 1968. Additional education includes Graduate studies in statistics and testing, Chapman College, Orange, CA, 1975. He is a Graduate, of the "Military Advanced Cryptologic Management Course," National Security Agency, 1975 and a Graduate of the Russian Language Studies Program at Syracuse University, 1964.
