Testing Services

An important component of the NBSP services portfolio is the ability to assist decision makers and users in the selection and proper deployment of biometric technologies and products. In part, this goal is achieved via the development of a Qualified Product List (QPL) of biometric products that have been objectively evaluated against a set of common performance standards, and conformance to industry standards. NBSP performs these independent test services in ISO 17025 accredited laboratories comprising 6000 square feet of space for use in Performance (Class I); Conformance (Class II) and Custom (Class III) testing.

NBSP's QPL testing program utilizes two of the three Test Classes offered: (Performance and Conformance testing.). A set of public protocols for both biometric hardware and software testing is employed to evaluate, identify, and certify commercially available biometric products tosupport of the end-users. While some end-users may decide to specify even more stringent requirements for performance in certain applications, the QPL will provide a baseline for objective performance assessment.

Whenever possible, NBSP test operations cooperate/,coordinate with, and rely on the results of other public and private test programs and projects as long as their objectivity and testing discipline can be verified to meet the standards for performance adopted by the NBSP for operation of our internal test program.
