Qualified Products List (QPL)
The QPL is intended to identify products that achieve a threshold level of suitability for service in general
infrastructure security applications. This category of testing is performed at the request of product manufacturers.
The list will be available at no cost to both the government and private sector for their use in conducting source
selections and procurement actions.
All manufacturers or vendors of biometric access control systems are invited to participate in this valuable program
and enter a product for the testing schedule. Commercial testing began in 4Q06 and the initial QPL postings for those
products successfully completing testing are expected to be released in 2Q07.
The QPL Testing can be applied to two classes of tests:
The NBSP uses published protocols to perform tests that examine and validate whether the products meet basic
performance thresholds (Performance Testing) and conform to applicable standards (Standards Conformance Testing).
The QPL will be publicly available on this web site and in hardcopy, upon request.
